The 2014-15 school year will be filled with exciting learning opportunities for Elementary students at SCS! Teachers and staff will develop the academic potential of each child while nurturing their hearts, and teaching them about the love of Jesus.
SCS will be implementing a new approach to developing positive relationships, managing our classrooms and helping students learn important life lessons through discipline. This approach is known as Love and Logic, and is based on over thirty years of research and practice. Likewise, the Love and Logic approach aligns beautifully with our Core beliefs about children and learning.
We believe, at SCS that all students and teachers are created by God, in His image. We are His creation, yet we are sinful by nature and redeemed and transformed by His grace. In this context, we believe that:
Every attempt should be made to nurture the dignity of both the student and the adult as a unique bearer of God’s image.
Misbehavior should be viewed as an opportunity for individual discipleship, problem-solving, and development of life skills as opposed to a personal attack on the school or staff.
Students should be given the opportunity to make decisions and live with the results, whether the consequences are good or bad.
Students should be guided and expected to solve their problems and the ones they create without making problems for anyone else.
Misbehavior should be handled with natural consequences instead of punishments whenever possible.
Students should have the opportunity to be heard (at an appropriate time) when consequences are necessary.
To this end, Love and Logic provides a framework and specific strategies for educators to use in developing a positive school climate that will foster student discipleship, increase motivation and focus on learning while setting Santiago Christian School apart as one of the country’s most dynamic learning institutions.

Bienvenidos de nuevo a la escuela!
El año escolar 2014-15 estará lleno de emocionantes oportunidades de aprendizaje para los alumnos de primaria en SCS! Los maestros y el personal van a desarrollar el potencial académico de cada niño, mientras nutren sus corazones y les enseñan acerca del amor de Jesús.
SCS implementará un nuevo enfoque para el desarrollo de relaciones positivas dirigiendo nuestros salones de clase y ayudando a los estudiantes a aprender importantes lecciones de vida a través de la disciplina. Este enfoque es conocido como Amor y Lógica y está basado en más de treinta años de investigación y práctica. Del mismo modo, el enfoque de Amor y Lógica se alinea perfectamente con nuestras creencias fundamentales sobre los niños y el aprendizaje.
Todos los estudiantes y los profesores son creados por Dios, a Su imagen. Nosotros somos Su creación; aun así, somos pecadores por naturaleza y redimidos y transformados por Su gracia. En este contexto, creemos que:
1. Todo esfuerzo debe ser hecho para nutrir la dignidad de ambos, el estudiante y el adulto como portador único de la imagen de Dios.

4. Los estudiantes deben ser guiados y deben tener la responsabilidad de resolver sus problemas y los que hayan ocasionado, sin crearle problemas a otros.
5. El mal comportamiento debe ser manejado con las consecuencias naturales en lugar de castigos siempre que sea posible.
6. Los estudiantes deben tener la oportunidad de ser escuchados (en el momento adecuado) cuando hay necesidad de consecuencias.
Con este fin, Amor y Lógica ofrece un marco y estrategias específicas para los educadores a utilizar en el desarrollo de un clima escolar positivo que fomente el discipulado de los estudiantes, aumente la motivación y el enfoque en el aprendizaje, mientras hace del Santiago Christian School una de las instituciones con el aprendizaje más dinámico del país .
